It is important to plan and implement an effective agronomic program that enhances the quality of the golf course conditions to exceed the level of expectations by the membership. The agronomic practices I  incorporate include cultural, pesticide and fertilization, and water management programs.

One thing I strongly believe in and what we implement extensively at Nantucket Golf Club is thatch control along with compaction and aeration practices. These practices range from needle tining greens during summer stress months, vertiquaking fairways -  which helps alleviate compaction remove rock from the top few inches of the soil that contribute to localized dry and hot spots - aerating fairways, and using a Graden on fairways and greens.
